Ghana Summit Oil & Gas Exhibition & Conference

With standing room only as the event commenced (close to 320) the Ghana Summit began in earnest to an attentive and an expectant audience. High level delegations from Uganda, Cote D’Ivoire, Nigeria, Trinidad & Tobago, India, Australia, Russia and key countries in Europe were present. The Ministry of Energy and GNPC were there in force as were a number of MPs, Ambassadors and key individuals from Ghanaian society.
The event had a truly international feel. Deals were being done at every corner and many delegates expressed a keen interest in opening offices in Accra.
The Ghana Summit was by far the biggest yet in the country since the discovery of Ghana’s world class Jubilee field. It brought together international players to discuss topics including opportunities in Ghana’s downstream industry, strategies for monetising gas and attracting further investment into Ghana.
Energy Minister Dr Tony Oteng Adjei was quoted as saying “Many of our people see the oil discovery as the last opportunity for achieving the national prosperity that has eluded our nation all this while.”
The colourful sponsored networking events and dinners did not disappoint either where all delegates were treated to numerous Ghanaian drumming and dancing extravaganzas under the palm trees.
