Rio Gas Forum 2010

The Premier Gas, E&P & LNG Event in South America

The inaugural Rio Gas Forum hosted by Petrobras took place on 31 May – 2 June 2010 at the Copabana Palace in Rio de Janiero.

Bringing together E&P and gas and power players from across Latin America, North America, Europe, Africa and Asia, the Forum delivered unique insight into the challenges associated with pre-salt and possibilities for gas monetization and integrations across South America.

The Petrobras delegation was led by Head of Gas and Power, Maria das Graças Silva Foster who delivered a powerful address to the international delegation examining the role of gas within the Brazilian energy mix.

Delegates were able to see first hand the development of LNG infrastructure in Brazil during visit to the LNG terminal in Guanabara Bay.

Networking was also a great feature of the Forum with delegates treated to caipirinhas and canapés to the sound of a Bossa Nova band at BG Group’s Brazilian cultural reception, focused round table discussions, hosted lunches and coffee breaks.

During Petrobras’ lunch on day two of the Forum, Petrobras announced their intention to make the Forum a key annual calendar fixture so we look forward to welcoming you to next year’s Rio Gas Summit!
