Supporting Local Business

CWC cares about its impact on society. We employ local contractors and suppliers wherever possible within the country, with the aim of building long-term relationships.

We work with partners and agents in over 30 countries all over the world.

CWC takes its responsibility towards the environment very seriously. We offset the carbon emissions for staff air travel to and from our events and courses.

Supporting Local Causes:

All projects were accomplished through DIVOG, Disaster Volunteers of Ghana

June 2011 - School Fees Project

€3000 from the Ghana Summit was used to pay for school fees and books for the 30 children from the Drifting Angels Orphanage to guarantee that they attend school for a full year and receive an education. An extra €1000 from the Ghana Summit was also used to purchase food supplies for the orphanage.

December 2010 - School Bus Project

£8455 raised by St. James' School in London was used to purchase a school bus for the Drifting Angels Orphanage so that they wouldn't have to walk the long and dangerous journey to and from school everyday.  The bus also provides the orphanage with a source of income as it is used as additional transport in the local area.

March 2010 - Shipping of School Supplies, Clothes & Toys

CWC and St. James' School in London paid for 7 boxes school supplies, clothes and toys to be shipped from London to Ghana and distributed amongst the children at the Drifting Angels Orphanage.

April 2009 - Bathroom & Toilet Project

CWC raised $USD 2000 to build toilets and bathroom facilities for the Drifting Angels Orphanage.  Supplies were found locally and local contractors were hired to build these facilities.

Christmas 2008 - Drifting Angels Orphange Christmas Party

Myriam Chbani of CWC, spent 3 weeks over Christmas with the Drifting Angels Orphanage and organised their first ever Christmas party with presents and food purchased from donations from CWC Staff.

If you would like to make a donation or for further information please contact Disaster Volunteers of Ghana at www.divog.org.

Nigerian Business Coalition Against Aids (NIBUCAA)

CWC is a member of the Nigerian Business Coalition Against AIDS (NIBUCAA). This is a very important initiative and one we are proud to support given our long history in working in Africa. CWC recognizes the important issues faced in the countries in which we operate and our role in society, hence our strong interest in supporting HIV and AIDS awareness.

Every year at our Nigeria Oil & Gas Conference & Exhibition (NOG), we hold a charity prize draw to help raise money and awareness for NIBUCCA.  CWC donates $50 from each NOG booking to NIBUCCA.

CWC Sleepwalkers - 20 Mile Night Hike

A few members of staff from CWC took part in a 20 mile night hike through London on the 16th of September 2011 and raised over £4000 in honour of of some very close friends and family of ours that have been affected by cancer and to raise money for Maggie's Cancer Centres.

Maggie’s programme of support empowers people to live with, through and beyond cancer. The Centres are free to visit, no appointment is necessary and are for anyone affected by any type of cancer as well as their family and friends.

Tackling Key Issues

In-country, our work is carried out in consultation with the key stakeholders including the Government Ministries, internationals investors, NGO’s and industry experts. For example, in Nigeria, we host a special session on the Niger Delta to engage all stakeholders to discuss the prevalent issues.

We also work with governments and UNCTAD in researching and holding events on sustainable development and local content.
